Capella Innovation is able to provide analytical services to producers of maple syrup or honey. This includes colour (PFund), lead, yeast, nutrition labeling and more. Our mission is to support the production of high quality products by providing analytical services and technical assistance to producers. Analysis is conducted using approved methods (AOAC) that meet the requirements for export or interprovincial trade. We are an organization that helps producers achieve consistent quality in the maple syrup and honey industries by using chemistry, microbiology and analytical control methods.

The Anton-Parr Abbemat 3000 Refractometer allows us to make accurate Brix (0 to 100 Brix ± 0.05%) and refractive index measurements on both honey and maple syrup and provide you with much needed quality control parameters. We can also provide you with the official honey color classification (Pfund equivalents) using a Lovibond colorimeter, or the official CFIA maple syrup grading.
