Exportation

All food products that are offered to sell on a foreign market have to comply with a specific regulation and food safety expectations. Our export specialist provides import and export guidance on country specific legislation. Our food testing laboratory offers food testing services according to imported country regulations.

For example, we test food products according to U.S. FDA regulations for the food product intended to be sold in the United States of America. 3-Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000) as designed to provide companies in the food industry with an ISO-based food safety management system certification that is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Importation

The food you import is required to meet general food safety requirements such as having been manufactured, prepared, stored, packaged and labelled under sanitary conditions. This requirement is met by meeting the requirements

In addition to the food safety requirements for imported food, you are required to become familiar with any applicable requirements related to standards, grades, net quantity and labelling. More information can be found in the Industry Labelling Tool and the Food safety standards and guidelines.

In certain cases, the food you are importing may be subject to other regulations. In addition to those in the SFCR, the Food and Drug Regulations, Health of Animals Regulations and the Plant Protection Regulations may apply. You are required to become familiar with all legislation that your food may be subject to. Certain foods may have specific import requirements that are unique to the commodity
